Wollongong, NSW Australia

From Queenstown, New Zealand, we flew to Sydney, Australia.
These two "distinguished gentlemen" were at the airport to greet us.  Mr. Harry Symons, and Mr. Bill Anderson.
For the next few days, we would be staying at Harry's home in Wollongong.
On our way to Wollongong, we stopped by Bald Mountain to have ice cream, and see the beautiful coast line of New South Wales.

We learned so much from these people!  Harry was willing to share photos and information with us.
Kay, Bill's wife showed Caitlyn how to shell prawns.  Kay is an amazing cook, and was willing to share some of her knowledge with us.  She made an awesome pavlova, among many other great foods!

Bill had to teach Dean the art of shelling prawns.
Next up, learning to drive Harry's scooters.

In case you can't tell, we had a blast driving around.

Bill and Harry took us on an awesome driving tour:  Kiama, Nowra, Kangaroo Valley and the Cambawarra lookout.
During our stay in Wollongong, we spent one day touring around Sydney.  I'll put that in it's own blog post.

Waiting for the train to take us up to Sydney.

We got home from Sydney really late, very tired, and very hungry.  When we got to Harry's house, he had been asleep for quite a while, but he had dinner waiting for us, and the table all set, along with these cute gingerbread men!

The next morning, Harry was ready to take Caitlyn and myself on a tour of Wollongong, and the beaches of Wollongong.  Of course, we would do all this on the scooters!  The looks and comments we got were awesome.  A 99 year old man, and two Americans buzzing through town.

I had a hard time keeping up with Harry, his scooter was much faster than mine!

I don't think we missed seeing any of Wollongong!
This is the last day at Harry's.  Kay and Bill came over to say good-bye.
Harry loaded us up with books about Wollongong.

Kay gave us a mix so we can make our own pavlova when we get back to the states.
12 Lucinda Street holds some fond memories for us!

At the train station.  We caught the train up to Sydney airport.
Yes, that's Harry, 99 years old, taking care of our suitcases for us.

The train goes right past Bald Mountain, remember, that was our first stop in New South Wales.
Next stop:  Tweed Heads.

So now we all want to quit our jobs and take vacations all over the place. I would love to get Eli to take us as a semi native guide.
