Dean Achilles tendon injury and recovery 6/26/2016

While at youth conference, on June 25, Dean snapped his achilles tendon trying to run up a wall.

Off to have surgery.  June 30, 2016

With Braden and Hanna's baby being born 4 days before Dean go hurt, and Mike and Amanda and kids moving in with us just a couple days later, (Mike and Amanda had moved out of their Heber home, but still had to be in Utah for a conference), we had good reasons to have lots of visitors.(sorry I didn't get a picture of all of them)

Most of his days were spent out on the deck, or in bed watching movies with grandkids.

or in the recliner with his foot up on pillows.

After 2 weeks of his foot up above his heart, it was time for the cast to come off.

Now he would be in the boot for 4 more weeks, and starting physical therapy.
Dean hasn't been able to go to Montana until now.  With the boot, he thinks he can do everything!

...and just like that, he can walk again.  Amazing!  (He needs a lot of work on walking without a limp)
He is officially done with the doctor.  Now just a lot of physical therapy.

Wild thing arrives 6-21-16

It's time for "Wild Thing" to join our family!

And there they go, off to the hospital.

Livy and I hung out at Gardner Village, waiting for the text.

This is when I told her the baby has come out of Mommy's tummy.
"oh my gosh, Wild thing popped out"
Here she is saying "Yay, we should get him a treat!"

Livy meeting her little brother for the first time.

Ragnar, and Odette's Bday June 17 & 18, 2016

Dean was up in Montana, and I was planning on having a week to catch up after just getting home from Lake Powell.  My brother in law Dan called and asked if I could run for him in the Ragnar race, since he had pneuomonia.  The Ragnar was to start in about 24 hours from the phone call.  Um...sure?
So I drove up to Christensen's house to help get the vans ready for the next days race, and also meet the other people on the team, and have a team dinner.

There was one little catch, I had helped plan a surprise party for my awesome friend Odette.  The surprise part of the party was at the exact time of my first leg of the race.  Kassidy ran that for me, I attended about a half hour of the party, and then headed up to Eden to meet up with my team.

I have great friends!

And we are off!
Our van was great!  We were van 1.  Ryan and his wife, Shelby and her boyfriend Bryce, and my nephew Tad and me.  Loved running with the people in our van!

My FAVORITE part of Ragnar is the night run!  Coolest thing ever, and this year was no exception.  Loved it!

After our night runs, we headed to a high school where they had pasta dinner and we could sleep out on the lawn.  Not a great nights sleep, but didn't expect to get any sleep anyway.
My last run was hard!  5 miles, most of it was as steep up hill.  My awesome nephew Tad had a cold Dr Pepper waiting for me when I finished!  If I would have know that, I may have run a little faster.  Such a great feeling to be done!

The finish line!

Dan wanted to keep the t-shirt from this race, so naturally, I had to buy me this cute jacket with the Ragnar logo!
