Conference Center Tour

Grandma and Grandpa Jenson are tour guides at the LDS Conference Center.
Dean, Erika and Janna decided to surprise them and showed up for a tour today.

They sure know a lot about that magnificent building. We strongly recommend a tour by Brother and Sister Jenson Sunday evenings or Monday mornings.

We just had to pose for a picture in front of the McCune Mansion where we had our wedding reception 29 years ago.

Oh yeah . . . then we got to play with Dex. Great Day!

Riverton Harvest Park Stake Presidency

Meet the Riverton Harvest Park Stake Presidency.
President Curtis, President Ellis, and President Guest.

Elder Gary Crittendon, President Brian Curtis, President Dean Ellis, President Kevin Guest, and Elder Stanley Ellis

Dean was called to be Stake President yesterday, and sustained and set apart and today. Elder Stanley G. Ellis of the Second Quorum of the Seventy extended the call, and Elder Gary Crittendon, and Area Seventy, came as his companion.
President Curtis and President Guest are going to be awesome counselors for Dean to work with.

We had both sets of our parents come out and support us

After Dean was set apart, we hurried home to fix tacos, visit with him for an hour, and then he was off to work....got to staff a whole new stake!

Caitlyn came down from Logan, and Mike, Manda and Dex were there. Braden was there in spirit, while his body was in Phoenix.

Dean hung around just long enough to eat and play with Dex.
Here we go on another new adventure!

Southern Utah Escape

Dean and I had a couple days free this week, so we decided to head south, and try to find some warmth. We left Monday morning right after I had a root canal done, and didn't have to be back until Wednesday evening, when I had volleyball games.
We went to dinner with Dean's sister Connie, and my niece Riley. So fun. Of course, I didn't take any pictures, nor did I take any pictures when we went over to meet Bethany's baby Jane. Kind of kicking my self right now for not getting photos! I did get better as the trip went on.
Tuesday morning we wanted to go for a hike in Zion, but Connie let us know that it was really muddy, so we would be better off going on one of the many hikes in the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve.

We had this trusty map. In our first attempt to hike to an arch we ended up at a cliff, and the trail ended there! Back to where we started, and we tried again.

We found the arch! This was a great hike! After looking at the map, we decided rather than just hike back to the car, we could continue on down to the river, cross it twice, and do a loop around back to the car. Sounded great!

What the map failed to mention, was that there were no bridges to cross the river! Yes, it's in the middle of January, and we are wading through the Virgin river...twice!
(The thought of mud in Zion was sounding pretty good right at this point)

There was this amazing beach along the river. When the temperature is about 30 degrees warmer, I want to go back to this beach!

Next stop...Kanab, to visit the Jensons.

After the kids got their homework done, it was time to play "Just Dance 2"

I had to include this photo, because Jacob was fed up with the way Dean was driving in Mario Cart, he finally had to come over and do it himself! Jacob takes this game rather seriously!

Christmas is officially over

We had to say good-bye to Braden today. He flew home to Phoenix. His Christmas break officially ended today. His new semester starts on Monday, so now all the kids are back in school. Christmas is over.
We went out to breakfast with everyone but Caitlyn. She was back home in Logan. Yep, we sure missed her!

Dex loves his Uncle Braden!!!

I was trying to get a nice picture of me and Braden before he left....so my hand may have brushed his bum for a 1/10000th of a second and he totally freaks "mom you just goosed me"! So mature Braden!
This is what the picture was supposed to look like. Now was that so hard Braden?

Oh sure Braden, you can make a decent face saying good-bye to Amanda,
and you can look normal saying good-bye to Deaner.
Braden, enjoy your 75 degree weather, it was great having you here!

While we were at breakfast I notice Dex had a mouth full of teeth. Yes, those are two other teeth in the back of his mouth that we didn't even know about.

Lately Dex makes this really funny, intense face. Out of the blue he gets this intense look on his face, and then goes right back to whatever he was doing.

A little explanation about these videos taken today:
When Dex gets excited or anxious about anything, his hands and feet start to twirl.

Dean taught Dex to go up the stairs today. Dex took off like he was an old pro at it, and he has to stop and say hi and make sure everyone is watching along the way.

Just Another Day at the Office

Dex decided to help Grandpa at work today.

"I'll just check these files."

"Anything else I can do for you sir?"

I posted Dexter's 10 month old pictures on his blog, to check them out, click here
