Law School Graduation

Thursday, May 16th, we headed down to Phoenix for Braden's Graduation from Law School.
Only one minor mishap on the trip down.  We drove the whole 10 hours on Thursday.

Yep, that says 102!  Welcome to Phoenix!

Braden's Mother in Law made him the coolest "math quilt" as a graduation present.  It has a bunch of math symbols and  is made out of fabric that has little math equations.  It's awesome!

Friday morning we got up and did an early morning run.  It was still too hot, but it was amazing scenery!

Friday afternoon we got to pick Dex and Amanda up from the airport.  They were smart.  They flew in!  Dex was so excited to see me.  It totally made my day!

We spent tons of time at the pool.  Braden decided Dex needed to learn how to work this lift.  BAD IDEA!

Saturday was graduation time!  Yay for Braden!!!!
(yes, that is Dean off to the left taking a picture)

 Lunch at Potbelly

Braden ran ten full marathons, a bunch of half marathons, and several Ragnars during his time in Law school.

Picture time!

It was so fun to have Amanda and Dex down there for the celebration!  We really missed Caitlyn, Mike and the babies.
(hard to tell these two are related!)

The ride home....smashed donuts and cartoons.  Does it get any better?

Dean wanted to do a long bike ride for his birthday.
He rode past 5 temples.  Starting at the Oquirrh Mt, then Jordan River, Salt Lake, then Draper, and finally Timpanogos Temple.  60 miles total.
Dean in front of the Timpanogos Temple.  From there we ran over to Amanda's so Dex could give Grandpa the present he bought for him.  Donuts!  Dex was so excited!

Then on to Grandma Ellis' for a birthday dinner.

Sand Hollow & St George Narrows hike

Things hadn't gone exactly as planned on this trip.  We had a blast, but had to make several alternate plans.  One of which was staying in St. George instead of on a houseboat.  We were beat when we got back from a full day at Powell.
We decided to go to Sand Hollow the next day, instead of driving back to Lake Powell.  We were the only ones skiing on the lake, there were other boats, but they were all fishing.  They water was so smooth!

After a day full of awesome skiing, we decided we needed to go for a hike.
We hiked the narrows up above St. George.

 These guys were so fun!

Dean had a gallbladder attack at about 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning.  He had gotten out of bed and was in the kitchen trying to find something for the pain,  he passed out and somehow hit his head and had a little cut and bump on his forehead, and a deep bruise on his bum from falling. I found him unconscious on the kitchen floor.  His pain finally went away and he was able to go to sleep after that.  The next morning, James tweaked his back while putting the plug in the boat, and while water skiing, Kirk pulled a muscle in his lung area.  I'm hanging out with some OLD people!

I'll keep you updated on what, if anything, Dean is going to do about the gallbladder issue.
