Haast to Queentown to Te Anau

Heading farther south, we came upon some spectacular lakes.
 Lake Wanaka
Most of the bridges were one-lane bridges.  On each side of the bridge it had a sign telling you which lane had to yield.  This sign shows that we had to stop for oncoming traffic.

Love the punctuation on this sign!
Dean and I looked for McDonalds to eat at, so we could use their internet....Not Caitlyn.  She found a place called "Remarkable Take Aways", and made friends with the Chef, Scott, and had fish and chips.
We got spoiled, and decided we didn't need to sleep in a tent anymore, so we rented this little cabin.  We had shared toilets and showers with the other people, but we had real beds!

We were right by Lake Te Anau.  Such a pretty place.
Saw lots of phone booths.  We don't have those in the US anymore, do we?

These trees were so cool.  One side of the leaf was sliver, and the other was green, so when the wind was blowing, it turned it in to almost a frosted look.

This is the kind of meal we get when Caitlyn is in charge of cooking instead of Dean.  Don't get me wrong, I've been fine to eat the freeze dried stuff, but these shish-kabobs were amazing!

Got a good nights sleep, now on to the Milford Sound!

The kabobs look much better than freeze dried!
