2019-4-19 We have handrails!

Yes, I am super excited about handrails!  Now, hopefully, nobody will die at our cabin!
 Before.....wait for it.....

First section!

 First side done!
 Second side done!

 The front deck.

 This makes me so happy!

Dean passed his 4 way inspection, so now we get to insulate!

Dean really hurt his back working on one of our rentals, so not quite sure how that is going to affect cabin progress.  He walks like an old man!  Oh wait, he will be turning 60 next week, he is an old man!

Michigan and Canada trip 4-10-2019

Yay!  We got to go to Michigan again!
The day we flew in, Amanda got new countertops.  That meant the faucet, garbage disposal, and dishwasher all needed to be hooked up.  First thing when we woke up the next morning, Dean got to work.

Below is the before.

After all was hooked up, we headed to Canada.
I have a niece that lives in Burlington, and we decided to go visit her and her family.
 Erika, Mila, and Bracken

 Luke showing Dean his gecko.

 Reese and Mila

Short trip, now back to the US to play with the "grands"!

 Miles

 Nora

 Dex

We signed up for a race in Dearborn, Michigan.  So Saturday morning, Dean ran the full marathon, and I ran the half.  It had rained all week, but it was great weather for our race.

It was called the Martian Invasion of Races.  They had pretty cool mile markers!

I finished before Dean, so I got to watch him come in.

 ...then back to work!
Dean built a cool range hood, and installed all the hardware in the kitchen.  Their kitchen looks awesome!

Before, and after

It is kind of hard to get this same shot, because the wall of shelves in the "before" picture is now gone.

Before and After

The wall that used to have the oven in it, now has the fridge in it.

And of course, we had to make cookies!  And yes, Mike is wearing safety googles to decorate cookies!

Watching the kids catch the bus, for some reason, is about the cutest thing!  (everything these kids do is the cutest!)

Nora and I sent this picture to Livy so she could see all of Nora's missing teeth!

Mike and Amanda's new couch was delivered while we were there.  Living room is looking good!
Snuggles from the "grands" before they left for school each morning was one of our favorite things about this trip!
Before and after.  Now where the mirror was, there is a tub.  And where the tub was, is the vanity.
Dean build shelves in the bathroom.  Bathroom looks awesome.

Out to the bus one last time.  We left shortly after walking the kids out to catch their bus.

Dean had time to do one last project before heading to the airport.  This is their mud room, Dean built the bench and put up the wood on the wall behind.  Mud room looks cool.  This house is all coming together!
