Helena, maybe for the last time 3/25/2018

Spring break for the Francis kids, but not for the Francis grown-ups, so we got to hang out with the kids all week!

And then there were the projects....

Dean put up sheetrock in the basement.

Dean and Mike laid brick in the fireplace, which looks awesome!

The guys painted the garage so it matches the house.

Mike built really cool flower boxes.

 Mike made flower boxes.
Checking out how the flower boxes look.
They look awesome!

The back door needed a porch.  Dean and Mike, with the help of Nora, made a pretty cool porch, and Mike will finish it with a patio off to the side.

Amanda made wreaths for the front door.

Daddy time.
Nora wanted her picture nailed to the fence, um, ok.

Fixing the breakfast nook.  That was quite entertaining!

New hinges and knobs on the "Hobbit door".

Shelves in the gray room.

And shelves in the laundry.

Dex with the kite he made.

Miles

Miles loves soccer...sometimes.  Sometimes he gets frustrated.

Serious, fun and relaxed, all within about 30 seconds!

There was a warm day while we were there, which when there is that much snow, causes a river!  Hard to tell from this picture, but there is so much water running down the road!

Mike and Amanda are getting ready to put their house up for sale.  It's sad to think this may be the last time for us to visit "the castle house".

Pi day, race, and cookie contest. 3-14-18

Pi day!  Each year on March 14 (3.14) I make a peanut butter pie.  I am always appreciative to whoever will help me eat it, otherwise I eat the whole pie myself.

There was a race on the trail behind our house on St. Patrick's day.  We love to crank up the music hold signs, and ring cow bells for the runners.  It was so stinkin' cold out there!

That evening was the annual Ultimate Cookie Challenge at the Carlson house.  We love and look forward this each year.  Livy helped make Hanna's entry, and Deaner's entry, thus increasing the odds of her winning.
We start off with the "sweet sixteen" and get down to the winner, which this year was "Grandpa Deaner and Livy cookies"!
