Saying good-bye

Our good friend Dennis Barney passed away last Friday.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Shanna and their kids and grand-kids.

Spectrum 10k

Today we got to run the Spectrum 10k.

By running this race, it guarantees us a spot in the St. George Marathon in October.

This race runs through the Snow Canyon State Park.  One of my favorite places to run.

Julie also ran this race with us.  It's always good to have her along to keep us humble.  

(She is fast!)

(I promise I will finish posting about our trip, if Dean will ever let me stay home long enough to get it done!)

Amanda made these awesome cupcakes for Dexter's party.  She let Dex have one the night before the party....this is serious stuff!

 We are home!  It's been a while.  We don't leave town again for another 9 days!

We got to spend the last few days with Braden and Hanna.  We had a blast with them.

We arrived Friday. Ran the marathon on Saturday. Went to church with them on Sunday, and then over to their apartment for an awesome steak dinner.

Monday we went to the Tempe Town Lake.  The weather was perfect.  Here Braden and Dean were trying to figure out how his cool waterfall works.

 Braden and Dean spotted some nests under a bridge, so of course, they have to throw rocks at them.

 I'm hurt, I didn't get the memo to wear a red shirt!

 We drove out to check on progress on the new Gilbert temple.  What a beautiful building!

 Let me explain this picture....Dean was pretending to be King Kong....I think all this sun we have had lately has really gotten to us, at the time, this was funny!

Phoenix Marathon and Half

We made a trip down to Phoenix for a race and to hang out with Braden and Hanna.

Ok, this is what we really looked like after the race

Braden stepped on a cactus at about mile 6.  After we got home, he pulled this out of his foot.  He wanted sympathy for having run 20 miles with a cactus in his foot.
