Cool animal pictures 2018-4

 These are one of my favorite animals...the Highland cattle from Scotland!  They live about 1/4 mile from our house.

 

The owner, who happens to be the same guy that owns the horses in the field behind our house, told Livy she need to go name the new calves that were born this year.  

The cows are not shy!

 I love it when the horses come back.  The guy that owns them takes them somewhere else during the winter, but come spring, they are our neighbors again!

 The pelicans made a grand entrance!

 So much going on down by the river!

 This turkey vulture was flying pretty low this day.  Can't tell very well from this picture, but he has a red head, and a huge wing span!

 The Canada Geese are all over the place, we keep watching for the goslings, but haven't seen any yet.

 This picture...I saw this guy down fishing in the river where the pelicans hang out.  I wanted to see if it was possible to take a picture with my phone through the telescope.  Kind of a cool picture.  I didn't notice till I pulled it up on the computer that there was a Great blue heron in the picture!

...and this picture, It was dusk, and I could see a deer in the opening out in the field, so I stuck my camera on the tripod, and set the shutter to stay open to see if I could get a picture of the deer.  I was quite surprised when I looked at the picture and there were at least 6 deer out there!  I had no idea!

P.S. All of these can be seen from my deck, except for the cows.  I live in a pretty cool place!

Gardner Village and Bounce house fun 4/27/2018

The weather has been great, so walks to Gardner Village are a must.

It's Fairy season at Gardner village.

Its also hot enough to break out the bounce houses!

cabin foundation, 4-26-2018

We drove down to the cabin lot to see if we actually had footings....and we did!

The footings were poured on 4/20/2018.

We started clearing out the trees that were in the piles of dirt from digging out the cabin.

Livy's new friend 4-26-2018

Hanging out in Braden's back yard we hear this little voice from the other side of the fence.  A little 5 year old kid had just moved in.

Livy and the little boy chatted through the hole in the fence.   Cutest thing ever!

Fishing at Deer Creek 4-25-2018

 It was great to get out fishing again with my dad.  We went to Deer Creek, and the water was amazing!  So smooth it didn't feel like Deer Creek!  Things were great till we caught the first fish, and then realized neither of us put the net in the boat.  Let's just say it made things a little more interesting trying to catch fish!

 This fish my dad caught, was flipping around trying to get off the hook, and came off just perfectly to land in the bucket below!  A couple seconds earlier and he would have got off before being over the boat....like several others did!

 Our limit was 8.  We caught 7, and then it took forever to catch the last fish!  Finally we caught one more and headed home.  When we started cleaning the fish, we realized we counted wrong, and we actually had our limit before catching the last fish.  Oops!  Had a fish fry that evening, they tasted awesome!
