busy day

This morning started with running our stake 5k.

We hurried home to get ready for birthday party #1, a waffle party for Kass!

Kass had the best ideas for decorating!  It was a princess party with lots of "bling"!

 Didn't take pictures of the Shumway gang, but here is the birthday girl, Kass!

After Kassidy's guests were gone, we started decorating for Dianna's surprise 50th birthday party.  Chenelle found this cute idea on pinterest...50 balloons with 50 pictures of Dianna over the last 50 years.

I quickly took graduation pictures for Shelby between parties.

 All Dianna's siblings were here except Jeff.  Just cuz he lives 5 hours away is no excuse, ok, maybe.

Dianna's house

This is Dianna's new house.  We spent the last few days down in Henderson Nevada doing a few house repairs to get it ready for her to move down.

This is for you Braden

We were on our way home from Las

Vegas and traffic was at a standstill near Mesquite.   Lucky for us, we have run a race here, and happened to know the frontage road way too well!

We called Braden, and he was able to tell us exactly where the accident was.  

(Braden, this is the picture I told you I took while we were on the phone.)

Dean was able to turn around (against my will) in the borrow pit, and take the frontage road and totally avoid the traffic jam.  Thanks Braden for walking us through this mess!

And congrats Braden on finishing your 2nd year of Law School!  You are awesome!

So, we may have ended up in Vegas....

We get to have Dex come over on Mondays.

He loves mowing the lawn with us.

 And feeding the ducks is always a hit!

At the last minute, Dean and I decided to head to Vegas to work on Dianna's house, so we took off, and made it as far as Hurricane.  Spent the night at Connie's house Monday night, and got up and drove the rest of the way to Vegas Tuesday morning.  We worked our tails off in 107 degree weather!  I didn't take a single picture at Dianna's house, but I will tomorrow when we go back over to work on it again.

Ogden Marathon 2012

Dean ran the Ogden Marathon today.

  (I was bummed that I didn't run this race today, but not too upset about not getting up at 3:00 a.m.!)

He and Tyler and Alisha (Tyler's sister), all rode up together.  Michelle and her boys and I headed up around 8:30 a.m. to get to the finish line to cheer on the runners.

 Tyler was the first of our runners to come in.  He took time to stop and hug his boys, and then finish the marathon!  Awesome race Tyler!

 Dean came in next.  His goal was to run it in 3 hours, 45 minutes.  That would be a personal record for him.

Can you tell by the look on his face....he finished at 3 hours, 43 minutes!  You rock Deaner!!!

 Our former neighbors the Bennions were also there.  So fun to see them.  Brant always has a huge smile on his face....I think it's still on there!

Scary Washer

Dex has a love/hate relationship with my washer.  He gets really nervous around loud noises.  He wouldn't go into the laundry room by himself to see the "scary washer", but if he hears the washer going he wants someone to take him into the laundry room  to watch the clothes go around.  Recently we introduced Dex to flashlights.  He now likes the laundry room because it's dark, and he can shine his flashlight in there.  Yesterday I found him in there all by himself, even with the washer going!

I love to see the temple

We went on a bike ride today and ended up at the Oquirrh Mountain Temple.  

Dex was singing "I love to see the temple" while were were walking around the temple....cutest thing ever!

Mothers Day

Yep, I had a great day!  I hope all the mothers in my life also had a great one!

We are giving gardening a try!

We are starting off small, but we are starting.  This is our first attempt at growing a garden.  We will keep you posted as to how it goes.  Our hopes are to see tomatoes and green, yellow, and red peppers.  

Rumor has it....

Rumor has it that Kass and Drew moved into our basement.  Their schedules are crazy!  They don't get home 'till late, and leave before the sun comes up!  Oh, to be young again.
