Camping in Montana 6/30/2017

Just a little bit of background....
Amanda and kids drove to our house June 9.  We left for Hawaii June 12, leaving Amanda and her kids to stay at our house while she worked for BYU.  Mike drove down to join Amanda on June 16, so they could fly out to England June 19,.  Braden watched the kids till we got home June 20.  Then we watched kids till Mike flew home from England June 27, then Mike and kids drove up to Helena June 28, and Dean and I followed them up so we could tend the kids while Mike worked the 29th and 30,  Dean and I, Mike and kids went camping on June 30-July 1.  Amanda flies into SLC on July 1, and drives to Helena on July 2, and Dean and I head home July 2.....got that?!
We got to Helena, and the kids we so excited to see us....they hadn't seen us since that morning...silly kids!

I don't remember Candy Land being this much fun!  We must have played it wrong!

While Mike was at work, Dean decided it was time to start on their retaining wall.

Friday, Dean and I took the kids up to claim a camping spot. The kids played in the stream and we went on a little hike while we waited for Mike to get off work and join us.

Starting it teach Nora my "stick a flower behind your ear" pose.

Nora packed so many treasures for this trip.

The "Grands" kind of wear Dean out!

Mike got here, let the party begin!  We went for a really cool hike up Trout Creek Canyon.  The kids loved it, there were markers about every quarter mile, numbered 1-10.  We made it to 10!

This is my awesome hiking buddy!  She packed her backpack with one little plastic lip gloss, and carried it the whole way!

I can't get over how stinkin' cute these little people are!

How cool is that?!  A real snake!

Oh Nora, who knows what caught her attention this time!

This is a picture of one of the markers.  As soon as they would spot it, they would sprint to it!

Grandpa and Nora changed hats...who wore it better?

This table was at marker #10.  There was a burn mark on it, which was perfect for war paint, for the Francis warriors!

 These are their mean faces!
Dont mess the Francis warriors!

Grandpa's idea of tending the kids....strap them to a tree.

Miles got hurt, so to get his mind off his "owee", we took selfies.

When it got dark, it was time for scary stories.
.
The scary stories were quite funny, and each kid got to take a turn telling their scary story

We had a nutritious breakfast, muffins and Dr. Pepper.

Mike led the kids in "training".  (which was hilarious)

Stopped by the Farmers Market on on way home.
Nora got a new bracelet.
