Ellis Reunion

Dean's mom organized an Ellis Reunion on July 27, 2009, inviting all of Bob's siblings, and their kids, and their kids kids....well you get the picture.

All of Bob and Mary's own kids were there, with 9 out of 10 of their kids spouses.
Dean's Family--Back row: Marianne, Connie, Chris, Mom, Dad, Bob, and Laura.
Front row: Scott, Nancy, DEAN, Kathy, and Paul

The Ellises with spouses...except Marianne's husband Davis, all other spouses here and accounted for.

It was great to get together with all the cousins we haven't seen for so long.

Laura and Brian were kind enough to let me use their photos for this post.

.....ej practicing!

24th of July

This morning we ran the "Speedy Spaniard 10k" down in Spanish Fork. That meant getting up at 5 am! It's a fun race. We all got personal bests, it's a fast race, and we are in better running shape that we were last year when we ran it.

Oh wait...are those medals around ej's and Braden's necks?

Braden's first 1st Place! He ran a great race! Ej improved the most...knocked off 9 1/2 minutes off last years time....last year a stroller crashed just ahead of me and I stopped to help pick up kids...not recommended when trying to get a good time, but made it so it was easy to get a better time this year...no crashes to help with.

Tradition is we go to McDonalds after short races, and Cafe Rio after long races. Amanda, this is the same McDonalds we went to last year with you and Mike! Wish you guys could have run it with us this year!

I'm officially tired!

Jeff and Julie came up to Salt Lake and stayed with us for the last week. They arrived the evening that we came home from Trek, so we were a little chaotic right from the start, and it just got better from there. These kids love their Uncle Dean!

The DeMies invited us over for swimming and a B-B-Q. We all had a great time! Thanks Mike and Cathy

Field trip to Kennecott Copper Mines
I went with the Jensons to the copper mines. I could sit and watch those trucks all day long. It was amazing to watch Jacob in the musuem. He loved it!

Field trip to the Salt Lake Temple, the Conference Center, Church History Museum, and the Church Library.
First stop: Church Library. It was great because Dean and I were able to get copies of our patriarchal blessings. Now our originals should show up.
Next, to the conference center to see an art exhibit.
On Temple Square, we tried to find Sister Cox, Nathan and Calla's daughter who is serving a mission on Temple Square. That quest took us to the Joseph Smith Building, the Museum, the Lion House, and finally to the Beehive house, where we finally found her! It was great seeing her, she is so fun to be around.

Over in the Museum, we got to play in the kids room. So many fun things to do!

That wasn't enough for one day, so they headed up to East Canyon for an evening of boating. (I got to go do visits for Special Needs Mutual, so these pictures are compliments of Julie and her new camera)

Jeff and Julie both skied!

Friday, Dean and I spent 8 hours at the temple open house. Jeff and Julie and all their kids, and Janna and Kass, Drew, and the twins all came through and we got to be in the sealing room, just our family, and talk about the importance of being sealed together as a family. It was an awesome experience.

We were supposed to head up to Manorlands after we were finished with our temple duties, but decided we would spend the night at our house and head up in the morning instead. So we roasted marshmallows and hotdogs in our backyard instead.

Next stop: 4 wheelin at Manorlands....tired yet?!

....I think Jeff is!

We had so much fun with this watermelon. Jordan insisted on feeding me chunks, and they usually dropped in the dirt on their way to my mouth. Didn't stop him....

4 Wheelin was a hit for young and old!

Next stop: Memory Grove

To top the week off, we got to take Kassidy's bridal pictures. She and Drew are so fun to be around! Here are a few of the pictures taken up at Memory Grove. Kass looked amazing!

The best part of the whole week was the call we got from Amanda telling us we are going to be grandparents!
