Hamilton, New Zealand

We were told we had to get ice cream from Pokeno...so we did.  It was really as good as Caitlyn's face says it is!

Caitlyn loved it every time she would see one of these "tiny homes".
Glen and Tracey hooked us up with the Parkers in a place called Temple View.
Sister Parker has spent many years collecting information and pictures and creating an amazing record of the church in New Zealand.  She took us on a tour of the New Zealand church history museum.  On the wall was a letter from Uncle Glen!  There was also a picture of Uncle Glen's grandfather, (Dean's great-grandfather) and in the same picture was Aunt Elaine's Grandfather.
Next stop:  Hamilton New Zealand Temple
Thank you Caitlyn for "photobombing" my temple picture!

Sister Parker was the speaker at a fireside in the visitors center, so we listened to the fireside, and then the director of the visitors center and his wife, Brother and Sister McCloughlin from Canada, took us on a hike to see Bridal Veil Falls.

Our plan was to find a campground, and set up camp, but when we got back to the Parker home, the Parkers had beds ready for us.  Sister Parker was not going to let a stake president sleep in a tent! Caitlyn was so excited about sleeping in her Harry Potter bed!
Loved the feeling in the Parker home.
We stayed up really late visiting and laughing with Vic and Rangi Parker.

You had some great people taking care of you! That is really cool that you found pictures of relatives and Uncle Glen's letter.
