2020-1-21 Pellet Stove!

 We installed electric baseboard heaters in all the rooms in the cabin.  It works great....until we got our first electric bill!  Close to $250, and we were only there a few times that month!  Well, that wasn't ok.

We decided to try a pellet stove.  Not as messy as the wood burning stove, and from what we were told, it would be able to heat up the main floor and loft.  So we gave it a try.

We love it!

Our next months bill was only $28!  It has a timer, so we set it to come on at 5 a.m. and it gets the great room warm before we even get out of bed.  We still use the baseboard heaters to heat the bedrooms while we are sleeping, but that's it.   The pellets are about $5 a bag, and the bags last 2 days, if we are running it the whole time.  It also has a really great flame.

This was a great choice!

Cabin with Yurt to Rim group 1-9-2020

(I don't have internet at the cabin, so I edit pictures at the cabin,  and then do blog posts when I get to use internet somewhere.  So these posts are going to be all over the place)

 We invited 7 couples to come to the cabin for the weekend.  These are couples that we went yurting with last year, or hiked the Rim to Rim this year.  

 It happened to be Jackie Stringham's birthday, and they came anyway!

cabin with Dianna, G&G Jenson 1-5-2020

Wayne, Dorleen, Dean, Dianna and Ej spent the weekend up at the cabin.

We had a blast snowmobiling, 4 wheeling, and hanging out.

My parents walked part of the loop.

 The burn pile from New Years Eve is still smoltering.

 My mom couldn't get enough 4-wheeling!  So fun to have her be excited about the things we love to do!

 The grandpas working on a puzzle for our wall.  Till this day, I had never seen my dad do a puzzle.  We also played cards with my parents....first time doing that with my dad!

 Dianna was a total gamer!  We had to snowmobile down to go to church.

 We watched this smoke on top of the mountain.  It gave us some excitement.  We finally contacted the property owner, it was from a burn pile a couple days ago that he thought was out.  Eventually it died down, and we had to entertain ourselves.

 Grandpa got quite good at driving the 4 wheelers.
