Crying

Dex came in from outside today and said "Grandma, I want you to see me crying".  Of course, I grabbed the camera!
Then he wanted to make sure I got a picture of his tear.

Los Alamos

We are down in New Mexico, staying at Dean's sister Kathy's house.

Dean decided he needed a project, so Kathy was willing to put him to work.  He and Grandpa replaced the door in Kathy's bathroom to make it wide enough for her to get through with her walker.

Meanwhile, Grandma was busy making a birthday dinner for Kathy.  Lucky us, we got to have one of Grandma's birthday dinners without having to have a birthday!  It was awesome.

Kent took great care of us!

Four generations.
Jetta, in pink.  Jetta's mom Shea, Shea's mother-in-law Kathy, and Kathy's mom Mary.

We got to meet Hanna

Braden was coming home for his friend, Patrick's wedding, and talked his girlfriend Hanna into coming with him! He had class Thursday evening until 6 pm.  They were delivering cabinets to Salt Lake by 6:30 am Friday.  So that meant they had to drive straight through the night.  (10 hour drive) I think Braden dropped Hanna off at her mom's house at 5:30 am, and then ran the cabinets over to the shop, and arrived at our house at 6:30 am!

Even on only a few hours sleep,  they both looked great!  Hanna is awesome.  We're so glad she came with Braden so we could get to know her.

This is the first impression I gave her...rash all over, and spaced out on percocet!
I really want to take a rain check on this "first impression" thing!

Braden and Hanna went to Patrick's wedding dinner, and then came back to Riverton to watch glass blowing.
Here is Braden explaining all that one needs to know about blowing glass.

Braden got up early and went to the Mt. Timpanogos Temple.
Yay!  Patrick is married!!
We picked Hanna up, and went down for the reception.  (11 am reception)
Yes, these two are still going on about 4 hours sleep.

Amanda Andrews came with us too.

And Caitlyn.....funny story here.
Our glass blowing, bee-keeping, mulit-talented friend, and Braden's boss....Tyler, invited Caitlyn to go to a bee-keeping class with him Saturday morning.  So we made a plan.  Braden heads to the wedding early, Caitlyn also leaves early to go to the bee-keeping class.  Dean and I are to get dress clothes for Cailtyn,  pick up Caitlyn's friend Amanda, and then we pick up Hanna.  Drop Hanna off at the reception so she can hang out with Braden.  Go get Caitlyn from the bee-keeping class, have her change, and then Caitlyn, Amanda, Dean and I go to the tail end of the reception.  Great plan....until we pick up Caitlyn and realize that we forgot her dress clothes!!!  Poor Caitlyn had to go to the wedding reception in her bee-keeping clothes!  I gave her my scarf, trying to make her a little more dressed up....do you think anyone noticed?  We love this girl!  She rolled with it so well!

Saturday was full of wedding stuff for Braden and Hanna, and that evening they went to dinner with Hanna's mom.  Sunday morning they went to church, and then headed back to Phoenix.  We were so glad we got to meet Hanna.  That weekend went by way too fast!!
Mike and Manda and Dex missed out on seeing these guys, they were in Chicago.  Anxious to hear how their trip went!

Great run

Amanda and her friend Camie are training to run the Utah Valley Half Marathon.  They did a long run today.  Here is Dex waiting for them to get to our house.

Here comes Manda!

Dex was excited to see Camie coming too!  This is the longest run Camie has done.
Camie checking her time, and she did awesome!

Dex decided he needed to get a run in too.

This is going to be my last post for a week.  I'll take pictures, but I'm going to take a week off from the computer to see if that helps with my headaches.  Unless I can talked Dean into posting on the blog, I'll just catch up next week.

The balls

Dex came to visit tonight!
One of his favorite things about Grandma Ej's house is the gumball machine.  He calls it "the balls".  We got it for our kids about 15 years ago, and yes, those are the original gumballs!

We try to guess the color before it reaches the little door, and then we put them in "piles".   Sometimes we put them in the refill cup and get them spinning till they go flying out of the cup...for some reason, that is always really funny!
It keeps us entertained for hours.

Sorry, I couldn't decide which picture to post, so you get to see them all.

There Braden, ya happy?

So kind of Braden to point out that I missed posting yesterday.
(I missed Friday too,  I want credit for taking the pictures, just didn't get the posts done)
Fridays post:  I had to have a medical procedure done on Friday...(you don't want to know), and my sweet friend, brought me these yummy donuts.  She is the most thoughtful person I know!  Yes, the donut in the corner had bacon on it...we started nibbling on it before I got a chance to take a picture.  Thanks Michelle!!!

                                                     Yep, this rash was everywhere!
Apparently I'm allergic to the antibiotic the Dr put me on!
(there Braden, now are you sorry you asked for a post?!)

So now for last nights post:
Remember me posting about an neighbor that lives by
"everyday is a holiday, and every holiday is a gift giving holiday"?
This is what Angela brought over for Easter!

It's so fun to get these fun little gifts each holiday!

Today's post:  Our daffodils are so pretty right now!  The flower in the picture below had a butterfly in it!

Easter 2012

Happy Easter!
It didn't work out for us to get together on Easter Morning, but we still wanted to do breakfast together, so we had breakfast for dinner.
Mike and Manda made these awesome pancakes!  They were even better than AWESOME!

Found this cute way to do deviled eggs on Pinterest, of course.

Finally time for the Easter Egg Hunt.  Dex was so excited, he didn't want to finish dinner, he wanted to get out to the eggs.  He was great, opening each egg, running back to show us what treasure he had found...
That would have been great, but we hid 100 eggs....may have been too many for one little kid!

....so we borrowed the neighbor kids.  The Douglases!  Dex was so excited to have the kids over here, and the kids were great with Dex!

Jordan and Chenelle joined us, always great to have them over!

Love it when Caitlyn is here!

Dex loved getting dressed up at Nancy's house yesterday so much we had to dig out our silly glasses, and the clown wig for Grandpa Deaner to wear.  (Sorry, no picture of Dean in the wig, but he looked real similar to the picture posted yesterday)
