Chillin' with the in-laws In New Mexico

While staying at Kathy's house, we got to go see where she works, and also where Ann works. Ann was kind enough to show us her lovely gun collection that she keeps in her office.

Grandpa kept writing in this little book. I'd love to know what was in there....wait, maybe not.
Grandma is amazing. She did the elliptical, made cookies, worked on puzzles, interpreted for Grandpa, and was always jumping up to get everyone what ever she thought they needed.
Be jealous, we got a batch of Grandma's cookies while on vacation....does it get any better?!

One of our proudest moments on our trip was the night we spent at Davis and Marianne's home. We got to see photos from some of their world travels, and talk about their many cruises, and dream about traveling as much as they do, but none of that compares with the accomplishment of keeping Davis up till after midnight! Now how many people in their lifetime will be able to say they've done that? It was a great trip.

Santa Fe

Marianne and Davis took us to the Plaza in Santa Fe. We were able to tour a couple of old churches, indulge in yummy pizza at the Upper Crust, and wander through an expensive art gallery.
I had to take this picture for Kami.

I love this picture of Grandma, Davis and Marianne. They all have a worried look on their faces, and none of them are looking in the same direction?

Check out these really sweet hats!

We loved seeing the insides of these churches. This is Grandpa reading about the old bell that used to sit in the bell tower. Now they have a much smaller, and much lighter bell up there.

La Cocina

Our last night we all met at La Cocina in Espanola for dinner. Kent and Kathy, Ann, David and Shea, Davis and Marianne, Grandma and Grandpa, and Dean and EJ.

Dean recieves his woodbadge beads

Tonight Dean was awarded his woodbadge beads. I love a man in uniform!
For those who care, he is in the buffalo patrol.
(please don't let him sing the Gilwell song!)

The Party is over...

The Ellis Family
(Yes, Mike loves his new in-laws!)

January 2009

All the kids came in town for the holidays. It was a blast! Today, Caitlyn left to Logan, Braden to Provo, and tomorrow morning Mike and Amanda fly out to Florida, then on a cruise, and then home to Virginia. It was so fun to have everyone home.

"Beat the New Year"

On new years eve we ran a 5k at Sugar House Park. It started at 11:30 pm, and you had to "beat the new year" and finish the race before midnight. Those that finished the race before midnight got a plaque. Braden, Dean and I all finished, with minutes to spare! (some had more minutes to spare than others...) We figured this was a great way to end 2008!
