Halloween 10/31/2017

I don't even remember the last time I dressed up for Halloween!
This was such a fun evening with some of the other witches in my neighborhood!

Gardner Village Witches Night Out
Me and Hanna

Halloween morning we got some good volleyball in, except when we were laughing so hard as "Brave Heart" tried to keep her hat on while she played!

Next up, I tag along as Braden takes Princess Livy to ride the Ferris Wheel.

It's Trick or Treat time!

We had our traditional fire going, and two of our neighbors decided to grab their candy buckets and join us.  The kids that came to our house got three candies in one stop!  Such a fun evening!

Missing our Montana peeps, but looks like they had a great evening too!

....and then there is Caitlyn, she was somewhere between Kagoshima, Japan, and DaNang, Vietnam.

10/23/2017 Signal Peak....FINALLY!

Since we were in St. George for the Senior Games, we decided we would attempt to summit Signal Peak one more time.  We have tried 2 other times, and been unsuccessful. Our last attempt was a total fail because of snow, and the time before that was because of high winds and locked gates.
The views from this hike were awesome.  This is looking down on Pine Valley.  It's from Pine Valley that we start the hike.
We may have lost the trail a couple of times, but Dean's phone kept us on the right path...sometimes.

This is where we took a wrong turn.  From our book, it said to hang left, what it really wanted to say was stay straight.  From going left, we went to the top of another peak, and had a good view of Signal.  Yep, Signal was higher than the one we were on, so back down to the valley, and up to Signal.

At the top of Signal Peak, there is a cairn marking the high point, and container that has a sign-in book .  We signed the book, took some photos, and then headed back down.  At the peak, it is heavily covered in trees, so there really isn't a good view from the top.

At the top of Signal Peak.  Washington County high point.

I was very tired and very hungry at this point!
(May have had something to do with playing 22 games of volleyball in the last 5 days and then hiking a mountain!)

The rock I'm standing on is the high point.

 Heading back to the car.
Done!  9 hours of hiking, just to cross that one off our list!
 Third time is a charm!

Huntsman Sr. Games 10/18-21/2017

This picture was taken last year during the Sr. games.  Meet Ally. We were roommates last year at the games. We think we are cool.
We had planned to play together this year, but a week before the games, her husband got diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer.
Ally wasn't going to be able to go.  She needed to be with her husband and their family.  Our hearts were with Ally during the games.  We kept her updated, and she kept us updated.

The night before the games, we sewed on lavender ribbons, for cancer awareness.

So here is our team for the 2017 Sr games.  My sister Janna was willing to step in at the last minute and play with us.  She is such a "gamer"!

Back row:  Ann Smith, Natalie Diamond, Ramona Lasson.
Front row:  Me, Maureen McDonald, and Janna Christensen.

 Ej and Natalie

Me, Gloria, (a friend from many years ago), my mom, and Janna

Great friends!  Me, Faith, Natalie, and Karen.
Faith and Karen play with me on our league team.

 Janna did awesome!
Janna did end up with two very bruised arms!
She still played all 4 days, and did awesome!

Dean's sister Connie, and her husband Rob came to cheer us on.
 Thanks guys!

Me and Faith jousting.  For the record, I won this one!

 Janna bumping it over.

 Ej hitting.

Me trying to act tough.  It didn't work.
I'm not that tough, and everyone knows it!

Here are my two teams.  The black shirts are my Sr. games team, and the gray shirts are my league team.  Love playing with all of these women!

We decided to do glamour shots after playing and sweating all morning.  My hair looked better then when I spend all morning trying to get it to look like this!

We were not feeling that glamorous!

 Our cheer section!
Dan, Dean, Brandon, Dorleen, and Wayne.
Thanks for the support!

Swing set at the lot 10/11/2017

Trying to explain where the swing set is located...
This first picture is taken from our driveway.  The arrow is pointing to Dean, who is standing down where our chairs are.

This picture is taken from where the chairs are, and the arrow is pointing to Dean standing on the platform of the swing set.

Braden making a level spot for the swing set.  He helped for about an hour, and then there was a legal emergency, and he and Hanna had to hurry off, and they left the kids with us.  We put them to work!

Every time Dean would get part of the swing set up, Livy would have to try it out!

Livy and Rex patiently watching the swing set get built.

Rex got himself "high centered" on the play set.  He just grunted to let me know he was in an awkward spot.  I may have laughed really hard!

Not bad for a days work, will go back down in a couple days to finish the swing set, and install the temporary power post!  We are having fun!
