Ann Arbor 11-1-2018

I'm sitting in the Detroit Airport posting this, with a smile on my face.  We voluntarily gave up our seats on our flight, to take a later flight, and were generously compensated for it....which means we can come back soon!

We arrived the day after Halloween.  All the decorations were still up, so we got the full scary tour.  Fog machine included!

I introduced the kids to Backgammon.  I thought Dex would enjoy playing with me...it was Miles that really took to it.  That kid is amazing with numbers!

On Sunday, we decided to go exploring.  We chose to visit Belle Isle, across the Detroit River....from Detroit.
 Mike and Amanda and kids

What we didn't know ahead of time was that there was a huge event going on!  The largest food truck rally on earth! This was a super fun atmosphere!  We watched skateboarders, there were bounce houses, craft booths, and food, lots of food!

Part of the reason we chose Belle Island, was to check out their aquarium and conservatory.

Nora would pick her favorite plant, and strike a pose next to it.
We have lots of pictures very similar to this!

The fountain was closed for the season, but it was still really cool to see.
That is Detroit in the background.

It totally tuckered out these two!

I loved hanging out at the house!
This is a picture of Nora (with Mike's help) texting Caitlyn.

The twins have soccer practice after school, at their school. While we were waiting for them to finish, Amanda showed me the kids classrooms.  On the bulletin board in the hallway, is each kid's picture.  All were totally normal pictures....except these two!  Really, both had to pose for the camera?!  Makes me so proud!

...and of course, house remodel was going on! There was a lot of "head scratching" going on!  This place is going to be amazing, but for now, everything is under construction!

Dex and Nora helped me clean up the newly laid tile.

 Girl tats!

 Binge watching at it's finest!
LOVED this trip!
