Alaska, day 4, 7/31/2017

Today's activity is hiking to the ice caves.
Caitlyn showed us the best drink selection in Juneau.  We loaded up on treats, and headed to the trialhead.

We got off to a silly start!

There are markers along the way that show where the glacier was in different years.  Here is the marker for 1985.

About half way to the caves.

We made it to the caves....now trying to convince Amanda to come inside.

One of the more stupid poses here.  The glacier is weakest around the edge...so lets have Dean stand on it while Erika is underneath it.  DUMB!

No Braden and Hanna, but the rest of us made it to the caves.  Amazing!

Mike, besides going under the glacier, also wanted to go on top of the glacier.

...and then Braden and Hanna showed up!!!!!

 We all made it!!!!

After the caves, we went to the Hot Bite.  Best hamburgers in Juneau!

Then to the Shrine of St. Therese.

Braden really wanted to touch a salmon.  Funniest thing ever watching him!

Ej caught one with her bare hands.  (Not that impressive, they are super sluggish during the salmon run)
Home again to watch the float planes land, and the cruise ships leave.

This is a picture of Caitlyn's place. That's Hanna and Dean and Caitlyn out on the deck.

There were hundreds of seagulls out on the beach, so Braden felt like he had to go disturb them!

Braden taking a picture of the amazing sunset on the Gastineau Channel.

Alaska, day 3, 7/30/2017

And we are off to see Tracy Arm.
(Mike, Amanda, and Caitlyn went mountain biking to a glacier instead of taking this cruise.)

 South Sawyer Glacier

 Really cool icebergs.

A whale

 North Sawyer Glacier

 Bears

On our way back to the dock, we pass by Caitlyn's house.

The boat on the left hand side of the picture is the one we just got off.  The Captian Cook.

Caitlyn took us on the tour of the abandoned  Treadwell Gold Mine.

Another great day!
