New York, day 2 2-28-2019

Thursday Morning, we went out to see New York City!  Hopped on the subway and headed to downtown Manhattan.
The World Trade Center Memorial

The Oculus was a really cool building!
So much bigger on the inside that it looked like on the outside!

There were so many amazing sights! I loved taking it all in!

Spending time with Deena was so fun!  She is the one that made this possible.

The Fearless Girl sculpture in front of the New York Stock Exchange...and fearless Deena and Deaner!

The Brooklyn Bridge.  So fun to see all these things I've heard about!

The Staten Island ferry.  Yep, I have seen the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island!
Ok, it may have been a little windy!

Chelsea Market and the Meat Packing district....which I didn't understand, there isn't room for cattle on this island, so seems weird to have a meat packing district.  (In the early 1900s, there were more than 250 slaughterhouses and meatpacking plants, thank you Wiki) But they did have great tacos!

This little window looking out on the the street below was kind of a cool perspective.  It was along the High Line trail.  Right after we took this pictures, they randomly closed this part of the trail.
The High Line trail was one of my favorite parts of this trip.

The Stairway to Nowhere.
2500 stairs to nowhere.  Now there is $150 Million dollars well spent! LOL
The Empire State building in the background!  How cool is that?!

Entering Central Park

LDS Temple

A stroll through Central Park

Ok, I really loved Central Park too!

We had to go to a Broadway play.  We saw "Ain't too Proud".  It was the story of the Temptations.
We really enjoyed it.
Day 2 was amazing!

Skiing 3/21/2019

I was lucky enough to serve with some awesome ladies in our church.  We no longer serve together, but we refuse to stop meeting together on a regular bases.  This time, we decided we should all ski together.  Great idea!
 Gretchen, Lacey, and Erika
Deer Valley Ski Resort

It's been over 25 years since I last skied!  For Lacey, it's only been about 12 years since she skied, and Gretchen is a ski instructor, so she goes at least once a week.  Lacey and I were both pretty nervous about if we could remember how to do this!

We had a blast!  Lacey and I were in a competition as to who could have the most falls.  She bet me in the falls, but I think mine were more dramatic!
I had quite a few awesome wipe-outs, I'm not even sure which one caused this bruise!

Gretchen tried to flatter us by telling us we should do the "blue diamond" runs.  I think she was trying to kill us.  (there are easy hills, then next is the green diamond, then blue, then black)

I may have to do this again, maybe not wait  another 30 years!

New York City! Day 1

We are going to New York City!!!!

Our first night in town.  We got to the airport just in time to experience rush hour traffic!
After dumping our backpacks at the hotel, we decided to head out, and explore Midtown Manhattan.
 Times square!  I loved it!

The Hershey and Disney stores were fun....but mostly they were warm!  This place is freezing in the winter time!
