Pioneer Day 2011

We kind of had a busy day today, it started at 2:30 a.m., with Dean and Braden getting up to run the Deseret News Marathon. Dean and Braden picked up our neighbor Tyler at 3 a.m., and I rode to the finish line with Tyler's wife Michelle, and their 3 cute little boys, at 7:45 a.m..
We got to the race just barely in time to watch Tyler cross the finish line. He was able to spot his son G and carry him across the finish line. Tyler was 15 minutes ahead of when we expected him to finish.

Michelle and Caitlyn visiting while waiting for our runners.

Here comes Braden in the blue tank top, a friend of Caitlyn's, Jeremy, in the gray shirt, and Dean in a white shirt.

The guy in the orange shirt decided to sprint to the finish line, there was no way Braden was going to let that 18 year old punk beat him. It was an all out sprint for both of them!
(not usually how you finish a marathon)

Good job Braden, way to finish strong and show him who is boss!

Here are Dean and Jeremy's finishes.

I can't remember being more comfortable at a finish line than at this one. Standing around visiting with Caitlyn and Michelle was much more enjoyable than running 26.2 miles.

Good job Braden, Jeremy, and Deaner!

Braden and Dean "ran" into our old friend Steve. It was great seeing him and his family!

One of Dean's clients found out Dean was running the marathon and showed up at the finish line with an ice cold Dr. Pepper for him and Braden!

This is one happy Braden. He has just completed his 7th marathon, and in under 4 hours. Not too bad for what was supposed to be a training run.

Braden and Dean showing off their new shirts and medals.

Tell us how you really feel, Braden.

To keep with tradition, it was off to Cafe Rio next.

Mike and Amanda are packing up everything, getting ready to move into their new house, so Caitlyn stopped by their house and swiped Dex.
He loves water! Here he is in his moon boots, playing in the water. For some reason, this picture struck me really funny.

We decided to take Dex back to feed the ducks and fish again.

He still has a hard time giving the bread to the ducks.

Next up, visit Jordan and Chenelle, and their 5 new puppies!

Dean and Braden had their eyes on the hot tub! We love the pools at Chenelle's place.
Cousins: Cailtyn, Riley, Kassidy, and Chenelle

A little sore Braden?

I LOVE this picture! Check out Dex's hand on his own head. He was pushing his head down into the water. Then he would blow bubbles.

After swimming, we got to have Riley and Kassidy come over for pizza!
I'm thinking we are going to sleep good tonight!

Ducks

We decided to take Dex over to see the ducks at the Daybreak lake. We got a bunch of bread to feed the ducks, and of course, the camera, (I still need lots of practice using the new lens).
It was a blast! Dex loved feeding the ducks, but loved eating the bread himself even more! There were a couple times that the ducks knew that the bread was for them, so it was a race to see if the ducks could get it out of Dex's hand before it got to Dex's mouth!
