Good Runs for Everyone!

Great runs today for everyone!  Dean got up early and ran from our house to Temple Square, and then rode Trax home.  I ran the Yellow Fork Canyon run, and got home in time to tend Dex so Mike and Amanda could take their turn.  All of us had good runs and no injuries.  Yay!

Chenelle gave us Jazz tickets.  We had already volunteered to tend Dex, so the three of us went to the Jazz game.  Dex was awesome.  Yelled, clapped, enjoyed all the things going on around him.....

Dex has a funny little quirk, he loves ears.  When he gets nervous, or scared, excited or whatever, he reaches for your earlobe, and rubs it.  Well...see that bald head right below Dex in the picture....Yep, those ears were just more that Dex could resist!  He grabbed them.  Mr. Bald man's buddy sitting next to him thought it was pretty dang funny!  Mr. Bald man was too surprised to do anything but sit there totally frozen.

Tonight was "Women in Excellence".  Our theme was taken from a song from Toy Story, "You've got a friend in me"

We had the "friends"  tell something about their friend with Special Needs.  It was so fun to see our kids beaming while their friend told us cool things about them.  Then we had them pose for pictures with their friends.  I loved this evening!  It was tons of work, the mic didn't work, group home didn't show up, and CD players, yes, I said players, wouldn't play more than one song and then have to be unplugged....don't think anyone cared.  Makes me wish I could take back all that stressin' I did over it!  Have I mentioned, I LOVE THURSDAYS!

family home evening

For family night, we decided to go for a walk. When we got home, we had this great idea to make cookies and take them to a couple of  families.  By the time we got the cookies made, it was too late to take them out, so we just ate cookie dough and cookies.  It's the thought that counts, right?

Caitlyn!

Caitlyn is one of the coolest people ever!

She invited us out to dinner at her house tonight, it was awesome.

Carl owns the house Caitlyn lives in.  He lives on the main floor, and Caitlyn and her friend live in the basement apartment. 

Watching her interact with Carl is so cool.  She is so kind to Carl.  He lights up when he notices she is coming up to talk to him.  He is the cutest 90 year old man, but watching how tender she is with him is awesome.

 City Creek Center opened this last week, and since Caitlyn is so "with it", she decided she would take us on a tour.  She has her fancy-smancy parking pass, and knows her way around downtown.  I highly recommend Caitlyn as a tour guide, did I mention she is amazing!

It made me so happy to spend the evening with Caitlyn.

This week didn't go as I had planned.  I thought I would be taking it easy, reading books and watching movies.  Didn't happen.  I'm still supposed to be taking it easy, till I get the Dr's ok tomorrow, so I decided I would spend the day reading those photography books, and playing with my camera.   

 This picture is really how it was taken!  I did use as squirty bottle to get the "dew drops", this is how it came out of my camera.  You can even see the crown molding from my ceiling.

 This one is using my ceiling as my backdrop.  Liked that look.

Going out in public

I have not had to leave my house since the surgery on Friday.  It's been so nice not to have to be anywhere.  Tonight was the night we put on a social for the wives of the bishops in our stake, so I kind of had to go.  I'm still a little swollen, and not feeling quite 100%.  My cute neighbor lady brought these masks over to me with a note telling me I could wear this mask and not have to be self conscious about my face! 

How funny is that?!!!   

Do you think anyone would notice?

 When my amazing visiting teacher asked me how she could help, I think I almost had her talked into going to the Bishop's Wive's Social in my place!

  These ladies, and my bishop's wife, were the only ones that knew anything was a little off, and I didn't even have to wear the mask!

I don't have to be to anything till the Dr's appointment Thursday morning to get these lovely splints out of my nose!  (oh, that would make a great blog post wouldn't it?!)

Oh yeah, mustaches are in!

My nephew is staying at our house, and he is so tempted to rip my mustache off.  Dean decided the answer is to give Jordan his own mustache.

As Bethany put in the last post, "I'm a real man".  Not afraid to post ugly pictures lately!

Ok, here is my excuse for not posting yesterday.

Dean was so kind as to take this lovely picture of me in the recovery room.

I should be able to breath out my nose soon.  Had polyps removed from my sinuses, did a balloon surgery on the sinuses above my eyes.  Corrected my deviated septum, and got all the grossness out of all my sinuses on both sides of my face.  Life should be good.....in about a week.  I go in Thursday to get the splints out of my nose, then in a couple of weeks I should be able to start exercising again.

Oh, this kid is good!

A while ago Dean made this cool shelf for me.  I finally got around to putting our family pictures in the frames!  We are so much better looking than the Ikea models!  I love the way this turned out!

I'm finally ordering pictures for my cool shelf Dean made for me.  I've gone through so many pictures trying to pick out my favorite ones.  I came across this old one from when we were dating.

We thought we were so happy...if we had only known what we were in for!

All that Jazz

Chenelle called tonight to see if we wanted to go to the Jazz game.  We love it when we get this call!

 It's awesome watching Chenelle dance.  If you ever wonder which Jazz dancer she is, she is without question the one with the most amazing arms!  The muscles in her arms and back are incredible.  (She is also the prettiest one, so she is really easy to spot!)

 Oh yeah, my other nieces were also there, and they are all very pretty....see, they are the ones under the yellow sign!

The Kanab Jensons were in town, so that means a party!
