Tortola March 20, 2009

The ship docked at Road Town, the biggest town on Tortola. We were told the best beach was Brewers Bay on the other side of the island. On the map it looked like maybe 2 or 3 miles. So we decided to run over and back.

It was very interesting asking for directions. "No, no it's too far to walk you must take a taxi."
It was a very steep climb, and stifling heat, but the view from the top was breathtaking.

We were passed many times by taxis full of our shipmates. Many of them would make friendly comments to us later. Turned out the round trip was 9.2 miles.

The beach was great. The waves were perfect for body surfing.

Or just relaxing. Looks like a Corona beer commercial huh?

Tortola had the coolest looking taxis.

We love sitting on the open deck while the ship leaves port. It's so big it was amazing everytime.

It doesn't look like you put on enough weight! You must not have spent enough time at the the buffet table!
