Alaska, day 10, 8/6/2017

This morning we took a ferry from Skagway back to Juneau.
That boat coming in is the one we rode on for the next few hours.

Haines

We were told there would be breakfast on the boat, so we passed on the breakfast at our hotel.
We had been on the boat for several hours, and there was still no sign of food.  We were getting quite hungry.  FINALLY, they brought out baskets to each passenger with a small breakfast, and they totally skipped Caitlyn!  They had to hand me mine across Caitlyn, but forgot to come back and give her one.  She had to ask for one after everyone else had theirs, and they were done serving.  When she finally got hers, she was ecstatic!  As we learned in Sweden,  "hunger is the best spice"!

This light house in the middle of the channel was beautiful....everything on the route was amazing!

After our ferry ride, we boarded a bus.  This is Caitlyn as a passenger on one of her company buses.

Grilled oysters and fish tacos for lunch.  Thank you Caitlyn for making sure I stay out of my comfort zone!

This is Caitlyn's little truck.  It was such a fun part of our trip, I had to get a picture of it.  No windshield wipers, side mirror is missing, we did get lights working while we were there.  No backrest on back fold down seat, different size tires, and the list goes on, and on...it's perfect!

Our good friends, Brent and Michelle Todd just happened to be in Juneau the same time we were.

Hiking Perseverance Trail

The opening to the mine is super cold!

Showing Grandma and Grandpa the fish hatchery.

One of the best places to eat in Juneau is the Sandbar.  Doesn't look like much, but the food is great!

Now off to find them bears!  Caitlyn was going to take us to "the bridge"  where we quite often see bears, but a mother bear and her cubs had fallen asleep across the path to the bridge!  That cut that hike down considerably!

So on to other places to see other bears.

The beaver did't want to get over looked, so he made an appearance while we were watching a bear.  Thank you for that!

Came home to a full moon over the channel.   I had an audience watching me take pictures, so I had to put on a good show!  In the picture below are Caitlyn and my mom out on the deck.
