Puerto Vallarta

We flew into Puerto Vallarta on Saturday evening. We spent that evening hanging out at the condo, and walking down by the beach. The condo was actually in a place called Nuevo Vallarta. As you can see from the previous post, this place was awesome!

Sunday morning we got up early so we could be to 9 a.m. church. The closest LDS. church was in Ixtapa. We took a taxi there, and told the taxi drive to come pick us up at 10:15 a.m.. He agreed to that, and away he went. We were about 20 minutes early, and everything was locked up....we were hoping we had the correct time for meetings!

People did start showing up, and the meeting was at 9....and yes, it was all in Spanish. We were able to take the sacrament, but none of us speak Spanish, so it all sounded like gibberish to us! Wendi commented that that's what our sacrament meetings sound like to our teenagers!
There was a great feeling in the sacrament meeting. At 10:15, we went out to meet our taxi, and after waiting about 30 minutes, decided he wasn't going to show. Um...now to get back to our condo, using the city bus system, and no Spanish. Most of the taxi drivers spoke English, but not the bus drivers!

We got on this bus, and after a few minutes, he motioned for us to get off, and pointed to a main road a couple streets over. As buses would come by, we would say Nuevo Vallarta? and they would shake their head "no". Eventually, one driver finally said "yes", and for about $4, all four of us were able to get to the entrance of our resort. The one way taxi trip from our hotel to the church was $15.

Dean and I decided to take a tour of Puerto Vallarta.
Loved the cobblestone roads!
We got to go on a tour of a church and a Tequila gallery! We know more about Tequila than I ever thought we would.
Our tour then took us to the really rich part of the bay. The views were amazing!
Dean is getting pretty good at taking our picture!
Lunch on this tour was interesting...Dean had red snapper, and I had jumbo shrimp wrapped in bacon.
Both were yummy, but mine was much easier to look at!

Rich, Wendi, Dean and I decided we wanted to do the zip-line. It was a blast! This is our group, along with our guides (the guys in blue) Was an awesome way to see the jungle!
You weren't allowed to bring a camera on the zip-line, not for safety purposes, but because they totally wanted to rip you off on making you purchase the photos they take of you. $50 US! I don't think so! So if you don't mind, picture us zipping through the jungle, they would have been awesome pictures!

Home again, home again...
Here are a bunch of photos from the resort.
We took these shuttles all around the resort.
Great food, great friends, and great sunsets!

We could have spent every second of our vacation at our resort, and we still wouldn't have seen everything there was for us to do. There were so many pools, restaurants, amazing views, beautiful flowers, cool birds, etc.

After one really cool storm (Hurricane Hilary was passing by out in the Pacific Ocean) I guess the waves had washed rocks onto the beach.
We can't have that! They had raked the rocks into piles. This guy was picking up all the twigs that had washed up. No wonder they had amazing beaches!

Dean was watching an iguana climb one of these palm trees.

This was our last sunset in Nuevo Vallarta.

How beautiful! I love the flower pix! You are so good and I'm sure that your zip line pictures would have been phenominal!
