Alaska, day 2, 7/29/2017

The kids got in last night, so first thing on their Alaska vacation, run a race!  They are such good sports.  Dean and Erika ran the half marathon, Amanda and Mike ran the deci-marathon, and Braden and Hanna ran the deci-half marathon.  There was a salmon bake after the race at Sandy Beach.  You guys are the best!  Now on to that vacation!!!
(Caitlyn had to work this morning, I'm not sure she was sad she missed this)

Next stop, off to the Glacier to look for bears.

From the glacier, we went and rode the Mt. Roberts Tram.  Amazing views!  (Unless you are afraid of heights....so sorry Hanna!)  FYI, Caitlyns house is right at the waters edge, shinny roof, at the far right in this picture on Douglas Island.

We learned all about eagles at the top of the tram.  Above we have Braden and Hanna in an eagles nest.  Weird.

Amanda and I both have the wing span of a red tailed hawk.
Mike has a wing span of a Canada Goose.

...but the face of a eagle!

From the tram, we hiked up to Father Brown's cross.

Mike and Amanda enjoying the view at the top of the tram.

Back to Caitlyn's for a breather, Dean took the canoe out for a ride.

We all fit in the rental car....not comfortably, but we all fit!

Caitlyn gave us a tour of the fish hatchery.  Her tour is much better than the one you pay for!
