Mesa Falls Marathon 8-22-2015

The Mesa Falls Marathon is held near the city of Ashton, Idaho.
Perfect excuse to go up and visit Dean's sister Marianne and her husband Davis in Rexburg.  (Oh yeah, now she tells us we don't need an excuse, that would have been good to know BEFORE we signed up for the marathon!)
Marianne is such a trooper!  She went to Ashton to pick up our packets with us, and we drove the marathon course.

Marianne has bad knees, so of course, we made her hike a million stairs.  We had so much fun with her!

This is the side of the camera I like being on!
(Random strangers, but cool hair, right?)

 It's go time!
We had to catch the bus at 5 a..m.
The marathon started at 6:30.
From all the smoke, the sun looked red as it peaked through the trees.
I found this funny, sometimes when you are running you are so in the "zone" that you forget to look around.  If you looked to the right, you could see the lower falls.  They were awesome!
Um....did someone forget to print a mile marker for mile 11?

This is EJ coming down the chute to the finish line.

This is how good it feels to QUIT RUNNING after 26.2 miles!

For finishing the race, this pizzeria gave the runners a free Huckleberry milkshake.

After every race, we have to pose with our race shirt and finishers medal

We love these people!  Thanks so much for letting us stay with you.
