Santiago, Fisterra, and Muxia Nov. 10, 2020

Sunday, November 10, we went back to the cathedral in Santiago.  Such an amazing building!

After walking around Santiago, it was time to drive to  Fisterra, 59 km or 36 miles. Finisterre comes from the Latin finis terrae, meaning "end of the earth". It is on the ocean, and is the final destination of the pilgrims that walk the Camino to the ocean instead of ending at the cathedral.

Of course, we had to hike to the light house at the end of the earth!
This is Caitlyn at the very last marker of the Camino!   All along the way, the markers have the distance to the end.  On this one, the middle section that has the km, says 0.00!
This is at the light house, is lists the distances to many different places in the world.
Poor Caitlyn has blisters so bad.  On one foot, they were worse than the other, and causing her so much pain, so Amanda traded her shoe for that one foot, so it would rub on a different spot.  (we should have let Caitlyn rest her poor feet, but there were so many things to see!)

I loved this city on the ocean!

Caitlyn had booked us an AirB&B in a town in Spain called Muxia, so we said goodbye to Fisterra, and hello to Muxia. (29 km, 29 minutes)

Found our AirB&B, and it was amazing!  I love this little town!
We found the cutest little diner on the beachfront.  We were here for about 24 hours, and ate at this place twice!

From our Airb&b there was a short hike to the Prestige Monument and the O.O Kilometer Marker for the Camino.

The building the the photo above is Nosa Senora da Bara (Our Lady of the Boat) Sanctuary.
This picture was taken from Monte Corpino Trail.

Next stop:  Bom Jesus.
(Just under 3 hours.  248 km)
