Braden and Hanna and kids are here! 8-9-2023

 Braden and Hanna and kids flew into Detroit the evening of Aug 9.   The plan was for them to spend that first night at Amanda's, but Rex is terrified of dogs, so "plan B" was they could stay at our house.

Mike and Amanda had it figured out how to introduce Rex to Simon and Phoebe.

The dogs were in their crates when B's family arrived.  Then when the excitement of all the grands being together calmed down, Mike let the dogs out.  He showed the B&H kids the tricks the dogs could do.  Rex felt very safe...from a distance.

Mike asked Rex if he wanted to have Phoebe do her tricks, and Rex could give her the treats.

This may have been one of my most favorite memories of the whole week!  (and it was only 1 hour into the trip!)  I never thought I would see Rex feeding a dog, and a big dog at that!

The fireflies were starting to come out, so all the grandkids went outside and started catching the fireflies and putting in a mason jar.  My grandma heart was so happy, it felt like a Hallmark movie!

Needless to say, we didn't have to go to "plan B".  From what I was told, there was so much excitement at that sleepover, that nobody go much sleep.  Dean and I did, at our nice quiet house.
