10/23/2017 Signal Peak....FINALLY!

Since we were in St. George for the Senior Games, we decided we would attempt to summit Signal Peak one more time.  We have tried 2 other times, and been unsuccessful. Our last attempt was a total fail because of snow, and the time before that was because of high winds and locked gates.
The views from this hike were awesome.  This is looking down on Pine Valley.  It's from Pine Valley that we start the hike.
We may have lost the trail a couple of times, but Dean's phone kept us on the right path...sometimes.

This is where we took a wrong turn.  From our book, it said to hang left, what it really wanted to say was stay straight.  From going left, we went to the top of another peak, and had a good view of Signal.  Yep, Signal was higher than the one we were on, so back down to the valley, and up to Signal.

At the top of Signal Peak, there is a cairn marking the high point, and container that has a sign-in book .  We signed the book, took some photos, and then headed back down.  At the peak, it is heavily covered in trees, so there really isn't a good view from the top.

At the top of Signal Peak.  Washington County high point.

I was very tired and very hungry at this point!
(May have had something to do with playing 22 games of volleyball in the last 5 days and then hiking a mountain!)

The rock I'm standing on is the high point.

 Heading back to the car.
Done!  9 hours of hiking, just to cross that one off our list!
 Third time is a charm!
