Germany 7/2014

Thursday, July 17, 2014
The first full day in Germany we spent exploring Bonn.  So many amazing sites!  We had to pick up Finn from soccer practice, so we took a bus one way, and a train on the way home.

Caitlyn then fixes dinner for the family, and of course, we take a walk down by the Rhine river. I love walking down by the river.  There is an amazing park down there.

Got up early to take Nicko to his film class in Cologne.  We decided that was a good day to climb the stairs of the Cologne Dome.   We were really nervous because the reviews on line said you had to be in great shape in order to do this.  We paid our 3 euros and started climbing.  18 minutes later we were at the top and hardly even out of breath.  No nearly as bad as we were expecting.  There were 533 stairs up but it was no biggie.  The views from up there we amazing!  Coolest thing ever!!!! Shopping, then booked it across town to get Nicko in time.

Slept in a little.  The boys are leaving for Scotland tomorrow, so we had a few errands we had to run to get them ready for their trip.   Haribo (gummy bears) store, Haircuts, clothes shopping lunch, all in Bonn.  It was a rainy day.  Caitlytn and I have been messaging Amanda to make final arrangements to meet up in London on Thursday.  Starbucks.  Also checking on all the other arrangements we have made, we leave tomorrow for the Netherlands.  I won't be coming back to Germany.  Caitlyn won't be back for almost a month.  Lots of packing and getting things ready.  Hopefully one more trip down to the Rhine River park tonight.
