Mississippi and Louisiana, Feb 25-March 2, 2020

We made it to Mississippi!
Our good friends moved to Jackson, Mississippi and we needed to visit!
First stop, "Georgia Blue".  The service was amazing, as was the food!

Next day, we wanted to see the Mississippi River.  That's it!  We at lunch right down by the river.  That river is huge!  So fun to be here with these guys.
Natchez, Mississippi
We at the the Magnolia Grill, it was yummy!
Next stop, St. Mary's Cathedral.  It was so beautiful inside.

Natchez Indian burial site.  There was this sacred burial mound, that Steve felt he just had to roll down.
Funniest thing ever!

On Thursday, Feb. 27, we headed to New Orleans.

This little sandwich place was recommended by Caitlyn.

We went down to the French quarter to eat our sandwiches.
Interesting to say the least!

Bourbon street.  This is two days after Mardi Gras.  The streets still had confetti on them....glad we weren't here two days earlier!

Next stop, the singing tree in City park.

This building looks like it melted!  It the Hard Rock Hotel, and while it was under construction, it partially collapsed on Oct 12, 2019.  Three people were killed, and two bodies are still in the building, waiting for the demolition, which is supposed to be sometime in March.

We thought this was kind of funny....there is a Jazz band playing, right next to the church quiet zone...nope, not very quiet!

I loved being down by the river, and the riverboats....how cool are they?!

Even the statue got Mardi Gras beads!

While in New Orleans, one must try beignets.
And the place to get them?  Cafe Du Monde.  Yeah, that was an experience!

We decided to to go Biloxi, Mississippi.  That place was beautiful!
The sand on the beach was super fine sand.

Finally had a chance to eat at Raising Cane's.  Fried chicken at its best!

Steve and Pam took us to "the Swamp". This place was eerily super cool.

We drove past a cotton field...like a real cotton field!

We had a great time visiting the South!
Thanks Pam and Steve!
