Lake Powell June 4-10, 2016

As is tradition, we start out our week at Lake Powell with running a 5k on our way out of town.  We always run/walk the Nestle 5k.
Cory, Kami, Deena, Corbin, Teri, and Kaycee.

Cory and Deena at the finish line.

 Deaner and Ej

Dean getting his medal for finishing 2nd in his age group.  This guy is fast!

Cory also got a medal for finishing.  (anyone under 6 gets a medal!)

Thank you lady in between me and Dean for the nice photo bomb!

I won dinner and roses at the raffle
Of course, we had to get our picture taken in our lovey race tee-shirts.

Time for relaxing at Lake Powell!  We always go to the very back of Iceberg canyon.  We had an amazing spot.  Dean decided to take a little nap....he and the jet ski started to float away.

 We did finally wake him.

Our entertainment for the evening was a fire boat trying to put out a fire in our cove.  Their spray didn't even come close to hitting the flame, but it was entertaining to watch them try!

 Fishing was great.....

 Company was awesome.

Did I mention the fishing was great?

Check out the colors in this photo!

Some people watching Dean do the rope swing, offered him a warm beer if he could do it.  It did it, and passed on the warm beer!

This was where we called home for the week.

 Hiking Davis Gulch.

These guys were catching fish in their shirts.  Ok, they weren't the biggest fish we caught!

This years group was small, but awesome.  Dean, Kenny, Shelia, Jeff, Tyler Gledhill and Tyler's girlfriend Janelle Boxall.  (and Erika, taking the picture)

Pretty cool spot to have lunch!  There was an amazing thunderstorm going on, and it would echo through this canyon.  It was so loud!
Dean and Kenny tinkering with the boat.  The idol needed some adjusting.
 Set up some cool repels.

More fishing, did I mention the fishing was great?!

and of course, plenty of water-skiing.
We had a great week at Powell.

Wow, awesome pictures! Looks like a ton of fun. Lake Powell is such a pretty lake. So different from what we are used to now (Shasta is all pines), but both are beautiful in their own way. Thanks for blogging still!!!! No one does it anymore and I miss it.
