Lake Powell June 4-11, 2011

We headed off to Lake Powell for the week, on Saturday, and just happened to sign up to run a race on our way down to the lake.  It was the Nestle 5k in Springville.  All but 2 of our group ran it.  That's what happens when you invite the Ellis family to go on vacation with you.  You get talked into running a race.

 First across the finish line was Mikey.  He ran an awesome race.  He told me his secret is he doesn't drink caffeinated or carbonated drinks.  So, since that conversation, thanks to Mikey, NO Dr. Pepper for me!

 Next to cross the finish line was Braden, then Dean, (sorry, we didn't get pictures of everyone)

 Erika was next, then Jeff, Bowen, and Matt.  Jen and Dani were next, then Caitlyn and Shelia.  Chris was the last of our group to finish.  Great way to start a vacation!

Dean placed 3rd in his age group, and Mikey finished 4th in his age division.

Here are the Lake Powell pictures.  Too many of them to write an explanation about each of them, so just enjoy them, and know we had a great time.

I walked out to the front of the boat, and these kids were standing in these spots!  I could not have posed them better!  

 

Ok, there is a story here....Braden was soaping up, and the soap slipped, and as he was trying to catch it, he swatted it into the lake.  He dove in, and actually caught it before it sank!

 How's that for timing...right before Mikey hits the water! (yes, he had a little help from Matt, you can see him up in the corner of this picture.
