Snow Canyon Half

Before Amanda decided to try to have her babies, we signed up for the Snow Canyon Half Marathon.  We felt kind of  funny about leaving town while she was in the hospital.  But we knew if she had the babies, we wouldn't be able to hold them, and Amanda told us if anything happened she would give us a call, and we would only be 5 hours away....so we headed to St. George.  Caitlyn went down with us.

It was freezing at the start line!

At about mile 3, I "ran" into an old friend of mine, Betsy, and I decided to run the rest of the race with her.  Good choice!  It was so fun to catch up with all that is going on with her and her family as we ran through the Snow Canyon State park.  What a great way to spend a Saturday morning!  Betsy, I think we should do it again sometime!

Here is a picture of our husbands:  Bart and Dean

Betsy and I were in PTA together about 17 years ago!

After the race, we decided to go hiking in Zion National Park.  Thought that would be a great way to keep our legs from tightening up on us.
This is my idea of hiking....make Caitlyn carry me!

The colors in the canyons were awesome!

After hiking in Zion, we got to have dinner with Connie, Rob, and Leah.  Then we headed over to St. George to watch Shelby's last soccer game of the season for Dixie College.  Then to bed!  Long fun day!

For Amanda

This post is for Amanda, who is sitting in a hospital room right now instead of enjoying the Halloween evening with her cute little family.
(I'll give details of that at the end)

Dex got to spend the day hanging out with his second cousins.  Kami, thanks so much for making sure Dex had a fun day!

Woody and Buzz Lightyear aka Mike and Dex greeting Trick-or-treaters.

Mike gave Dex a glow wristband.  It was the coolest thing ever!

Buzz and Woody  ready to go trick-or-treating.  Seriously Manda, this was the cutest thing EVER!!!!
Dex was so excited.  Mike is an awesome dad.
Sorry I couldn't get a picture of it, but after Dex said his good-bye to me he caught up with Mike, and they were walking together up the street, tall Mike, and super excited Dex....Norman Rockwell couldn't have painted a cuter picture than what I saw!

Update on Amanda:
Monday when Amanda went in for her doctor's appointment, the doctor checked her and she was dilated to a 6...oops, not good since she is 31 weeks along.  She immediately was checked into the hospital, and they thought she would deliver the babies Monday.  Well, long story short, we are at Wednesday, and the babies are still hangin' in there!  According to the ultrasound today, the little girl is weighing in at 3 lbs 10 oz, and little boy is 4 lbs 1 oz.  We need them to grow a bunch before they arrive.  If I understood the doctor today, Amanda needs to stay at the hospital until she is at least 34 weeks, and then they could transfer her to the Riverton hospital if she wanted to have her OB deliver her babies, or she could stay at the IMC Hospital till she has the babies.  They are aiming for 37 weeks, but would be ok with anything after 34 weeks.  31 weeks is NOT ok.  (feel free to add anything to this Amanda)
