Back in Michigan!

...and Dean is back to mowing the lawn!
Amanda's friend saw this fish necklace, and had heard that I like to fish, and decided to get this for me! She doesn't even know me, and thought about me. I love this necklace so much for that reason! (...and because it's such a cool necklace!)
Two weeks before we arrived in Michigan, this house in our neighborhood burned. It is the same house that had their pontoon boat burn a couple of years ago. So sad. Nobody died in this fire.
I kind of think Michigan is amazing!
In the spring this set of swans hatch their cygnets. This year there were 5, but they never all survive.
(this year, only one survived)
Talking the twins into climbing onto the roof to get the fallen limbs from the winter storms.
The total eclipse is going to pass over Indiana. Michigan will be at 95%. We want to be the in the path of totality, so we are road-trippin' with the Francis family!
First stop
Beef Jerky Experience, Dundee, Michigan
We spent Sunday night in Fort Wayne, Indiana
Lots of street art to explore.
Then, on April 8, we headed for Muncie, Indiana for the total eclipse!
We found a table to hang out at at the Delaware County Fairgrounds.
There were booths set up, Dean go himself this cool t-shirt,
Amanda and Nora both had their faces painted
We went to the Minnertrista Nature Area, which had lots of fun displays up in honor of the eclipse.
Oops, we may have witnessed the earth go flat!
We tried to take pictures of the sun through the eclipse glasses.
Entertaining ourselves while we wait, and keeping an eye on the sun.
The moon started covering the sun at 1:53, and ended at 4:08.
Totality was for 3 minutes and 40 seconds, starting at 3:09 pm.
...wait for it....
Darkness!
We could take off our glasses and look directly at the sun!
For 3 minutes and 40 seconds we were in awe!
These pictures were taken around 3 p.m.!
...and then it was over.
We got home to our Boncrest house and we had a nest and eggs on our front porch.
