Today we ran the Riverton Pumpkin Run. It was a 5 mile trail run. I'm not sure the race organizers have ever ran a race, they had us start running a steep downhill, which meant we finished with a steep uphill! Not my favorite way to run a race. My first couple miles were at an awesome pace, but not so for the last couple miles! We don't have our official times yet, they will post them Monday. We do know Dean placed 1st in his age division, Braden and EJ both place 2nd in theirs. And by the way....who dresses Braden?!!!!Saturday, October 25, 2008

Shenandoah National Park, Compton Peak hike

We decided to hike to Compton peak, because running the 5k just wasn't enough exercise for the day. We started out, and found this trail marker, which we had no idea what it was trying to tell us. So back down to the trail head, and found out that we weren't even on the right trail. Figured out where we were supposed to be hiking, and started off again...
This is Dean and EJ at Compton Peak, looking over the Blue Ridge Mountains. Awesome views!
What a lovely couple!
This seemed like the perfect place for an engagement photo....
I think there was a lack of oxygen in these three, when we were at the peak, they were just a little silly! Okay, a lot silly!
Winchester Virginia
So Mike and Amanda's place is awesome! They have the front top floor of this old house. The landlord keeps it very well maintained! Hardwood floors, extra tall ceilings, crown moldings everywhere, it's quite impressive. The photo of Dean and EJ is in front of the public high school...mine sure didn't look like that! Walking through the streets looking at the mansions is amazing. The sidewalks are cobblestone. The trees are huge, and make a canopy across the streets.
